They were not very happy with this decline.
Harry Styles fans have mixed feelings about the latest collaboration between the singer’s brand Pleasing and designer JW Anderson, shocked by the collection’s phallic-looking key chain and sticker price.
The “Precious Metals” drop, which launched Thursday, includes nail polishes, sweatshirts, knits, jackets, a handbag and “perhaps the most controversial addition” — a glittering phallic chain that costs $290.
The X-rated leather case — available with pink or yellow rhinestone trim — retails for more on JW Anderson’s website, priced at $355.
The beauty raised eyebrows online as fans took to social media to voice their opinions, with many users jumping on the cost, saying “the key chain vibrates better or I do back flips or something” for that price.
Others, however, were upset that Styles released a penis-shaped key chain ahead of his fourth studio album, calling the accessory “crazy”, “wild” and “unhinged”.
“Doing a Disney collab and then releasing a penis necklace is crazy,” one Redditor wrote online, referring to Pleasing’s partnership with Disney just a few months ago.
“The joy of making an ad-k shaped keychain was not on my 2024 bingo card,” wrote another confused fan on TikTok.
“It’s an expensive wang on this one,” said an additional commenter.
“It’s more expensive than two show tickets combined,” laments another, referring to ticket prices for Styles’ past “Love on Tour” shows.
But it wasn’t just the keys that worried fans. They nailed the sticker prices on an $890 knit sweater, a $210 balloon long-sleeve shirt, a $135 tank top, and a $990 Bumper bag, which has already sold out on Pleasing’s site.
“You Can’t Convince Me Pleasing is not a social experiment to see how bad Harries is [Styles fans] will literally eat anything to do with it,” lied one user.
The Post has contacted Pleasing for comment.
The phallic shape of the key chain is a common design theme in Anderson’s work – which includes pendants, earrings, charms and coin purses. A collaboration with Anderson, according to Pleasing’s creative director Harry Lambert, is a dream come true.
“JW Anderson has always been at the top of our list for collaboration,” Lambert told Vogue.
“It felt like such a perfect blend of brands. [Harry and I] both love Jonathan’s aesthetic and the humor and joy displayed in JW Anderson’s collections is something that really resonates with Pleasing. Their use of illustrations, colors and emotions are so relatable to Pleasing.
Lambert also told Dazed that the two brands are “aligned” in their “point of view, creativity and energy.”
“As a designer, I’ve had the joy and privilege of working with Jonathan over the years, and of course, so has our founder, Harry, who is a huge supporter and supporter of Jonathan’s work,” he said.
