Vulture slams into cockpit window, stuns pilot and passengers: ‘We thought we wouldn’t make it out alive’

Was it looking for “carrion” luggage?

A Brazilian pilot literally flipped the bird after a vulture crashed through his cockpit window and hung lifeless in front of him for the remainder of the flight, as seen in wild footage.

“It was a close call!” The unnamed flyboy told Jam Press while narrating the wild incident.

The single-engine plane was carrying five passengers from Envira to Eirunepé in Amazonas, Brazil on Thursday, December. 5, when the plane was hit head-on by the fuselage, which ended up hitting the windshield.

Footage taken after the crash shows the corpse of the corpse eater dangling in front of the stunned pilot like a strange dashboard ornament.

All the while, he can be heard explaining the aviation disaster to the people on board.

Despite the horrific accident, the composed flyboy managed to land the plane at Eirunepe Airport without incident, with subsequent reports revealing that no one was “winged” in the crash.

“We thought we weren’t going to make it out alive,” said one of the relieved passengers. “It’s a miracle that the pilot managed to land with that right on his face.”

Meanwhile, the steely-eyed aviator suggested the bird incident might not be as unlikely as it seemed.

“This is the fault of the garbage near the airport, which attracts an absurd number of vultures to the area,” he declared.

Indeed, the swarms of slugs that sweep debris from the landfill pose a major hazard to aircraft approaching the airport, according to local news reports.

This is not the first time a pilot has almost been ejected from a bag of feathers in flight.

In June 2023, an aviator was flying through Ecuador when a massive bird crashed into the cockpit, bleeding his face like something out of Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds.

Some people have suggested that the bird may have been an Andean condor – basically a large reptile with a wingspan of up to 9 meters.
